Neither team saw the end zone and it took till overtime but #1 LSU defeated #2 Alabama 9-6 in a great defensive game.

The first points were scored with 3:53 left in the 2nd quarter when Alabama scored on a 34 yard field goal. It was Alabama's fourth field goal attempt after missing their first three.  LSU would answer back with a 20 yard field goal to end the first half tied at 3 apiece

Third quarter saw only a lone field goal scored by Alabama, a 46 yarder to go ahead 6-3. LSU would answer with a field goal early in the fourth quarter to once again tie things up. It stayed that way till the end of regulation and we went to overtime!

Alabama's had first possession in OT but were unable to do anything missing a 52 yard field goal attempt. LSU would take advantage of their possession with Michael Ford rushing for 15 yard setting up good field position. Drew Alleman would win the game with a 25 yard field goal.

This game was hyped for its quarterbacks but both team leaders didn't play up to par. LSU's Jarrett Lee threw a pair of interceptions and was replaced by Jordan Jefferson. Alabama's had an interception of his own and didn't seem to show alot of confidence at times.
