It's been a great season so far for the Albany Empire. Less than a year ago the team didn't exist and we were all patiently waiting to see not only what the name would be but how long until the team would compete? We didn't even know who would be on the team. Today in a press release from the team we found out 12 Empire Players have won All Arena Honors.

QB Tommy Grady (6’7, 245, Utah), WR Joe Hills (6’4, 225, Tennessee State), WR Malachi Jones (6’3, 215, Appalachian State), C Ryan Cave (6’5, 335, Hampton), OL Hayworth Hicks (6’3, 330, Iowa State),  DE Joe Sykes (6’5, 265, Southern), JLB Terence Moore (6’2, 225, Troy), and DB Marrio Norman (6’1, 205, Coastal Carolina) were selected for First Team All-Arena.  DE Darryl Cato-Bishop (6’4, 265, North Carolina State), DT Brandon Sesay (6’6, 300, Texas Tech), Derrick Summers (6’1, 260, Toledo), and DB Varmah Sonie (5’8, 190, Northern Iowa) were selected for Second Team All-Arena.

“These guys have worked so hard all season long, it’s no surprise we had so many names on the All-Arena teams,” said Rob Keefe, Head Coach of the Albany Empire.  “The whole team is proud of the individual accolades, but we won’t stop fighting until we bring a championship back to the Capital Region in our inaugural season!”
Let's help the team continue this early and awesome success by putting on our Orange and giving the Washington Valor a loud and uncomfortable Albany welcome Saturday July 21st at 7:30 pm at the Times Union Center for the Game 2 of the Playoffs. It's a "Code Orange" so wear your orange. If Albany wins they'll host the Arena Bowl on Saturday July 28th at Times Union Center.
