Former Tri-City ValleyCat Preston Tucker became the 35th 'Cat to reach the major leagues on Wednesday night when he was called up by the Houston Astros.

Tucker, a 2012 draft pick from the University of Florida, is an outfielder who spent 2012 with Tri-City after being selected in the 7th round.

He's a .296 minor league hitter so you have to think that he will be able to contribute at the plate when played by the Astros.

He hit .321 with a .390 on-base percentage during his season with the ValleyCats. He was hitting .320 in 25 games with AAA Fresno this season.

The Astros are currently in first place in the AL West.
