Baltimore Orioles starter Wei-Yin Chen shut the Yankees (20-16) offense down on Tuesday night during the Orioles (23-14) 5-2 victory. Chen is having a great start to his rookie season at 4-0 with a 2.35 ERA, he only allowed the Yankees two runs on four hits and struck out seven in seven innings of work.  The Yankees only managed five base hits and grounded into three rally killing, inning ending double plays.

C.C. Sabathia didn’t have his best stuff giving up four runs on eight hits, walked four and struck out six in six innings pitched. Baltimore got on the board in the second inning after an Adam Jones solo home run, his 11th of the season.  The Orioles scored again in the third inning on a J.J. Hardy RBI groundout. In the fifth inning Hardy put the Orioles up 3-0 with a RBI double and in the sixth inning Hardy would reach on an infield single scoring another run.

The Yankees only two runs came from a two-run home run off the bat of Curtis Granderson in the eighth inning, his 13th of the season.Freddy Garcia pitched two innings in relief. He gave up an unearned run in the seventh inning when catcher Chris Stewart let a pitch get away from him scoring Adam Jones.

The Yankees will travel to Toronto to start a two game series tomorrow. Hiroki Kuroda (3-4 3.56) starts for the Yankees while Kyle Drabek (2-4 3.66) goes for the Blue Jays. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30, first pitch at 7:07 right here on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio.
