Martin St.Louis Retires

Martin St.Louis has announced he is retiring from the NHL. St.Louis played one and a half seasons with the Rangers after the Ryan Callahan deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning. St.Louis became a Rangers fan favorite after the 2013-2014 playoff campaign, when he scored the game-winner against Montreal in overtime of Game 4.

“I have been blessed to play for 16 years in the NHL; it has been an amazing ride,” St. Louis, 40, said in a statement.  “I would like to thank the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers organizations and owners for providing me the opportunity to play the sport I love for so many years.

“I could have never played for so long or accomplished all that I have without the unwavering love and support from my wife, Heather, our three sons, Ryan, Lucas, and Mason, and my parents.”

Last season at 39 years old, St. Louis' production has took a huge dip. His 50 points he were his lowest total since a 53-game campaign for the Lightning in 2001-02.

I believe St.Louis is a for sure Hall of Famer,  he scored 391 goals and 642 assists in 1,134 regular season games, playing for Calgary, Tampa Bay and the Rangers. He made seven All-Star teams as an undrafted player from the University of Vermont.
