Alex Rodriguez had two hits last night making his current hit total 2,997 career hits. Meaning he is closing in on being one of three player all time to have at least 600 home runs and 3,000 hits. Only Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron have done it before. The sad reality is A Rod has put himself in a position that this once amazing feat that would paralyze media around the country as we wait for three more hits is almost an after thought.

New York will be happy if A Rod gets three hits tonight because with CC Sabathia on the mound it's likely the Bombers will need all the offense they can get to win tonight against the Miami Marlins.
