It’s hard to look at the winless Giants and have a positive prospective but there definitely is one, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

“The good part for them is that nobody is running away with that division,” said Schefter, with ‘Armen and Levack’ on 104.5 The Team. “Dallas is beaten up right now, Washington is 1-1, the Giants play the Redskins on Thursday night, the Eagles are 0-2 and struggling.

‘Listen, 0-2, bleak start, not the way you want to begin but if you find a way to win against Washington, they’ll feel really good going into that 10 day stretch with a 1-2 record.”

The Cowboys placed Tony Romo on the eight-week IR this week, but the Giants aren’t paying attention to their overall outlook on the NFC East.

“When a division is still young, when we’ve only played three games with 13 left, that doesn’t change our mindset on the division,” said Giants offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz, on 104. 5 The Team. :We just need to go out and win the games we have in front us. We have to play better and not worry about the rest of the division.”

The Giants host the Redskins this Thursday night.
