After a record-setting season with the Albany Empire, Malachi Jones played the preseason with the Chicago Bears and is now signing with the Alliance of American Football League. Jones became the first rookie to win Wide Receiver of the Year in the AFL. Add that to being named Rookie of the Year and Jones explosive play will be missed in Albany.

The Alliance of American Football starts its ten week regular season in February and Jones has signed with the Atlanta Legends who are coached by Brad Childress with former NFL quarterback Michael Vick as the offensive coordinator.

Training camp for the AAF starts in January and Jones will look to make the Legends' 50-man roster from the 75 players who compete in camp.

In a press release from the Albany Empire, Jones said "I am forever grateful for the time spent with the Albany Empire. They helped me achieve my dream of getting back to the NFL and become a better person on and off the field in the process. The things that I learned and did in Albany have propelled my football career in the right direction!"
