For as much as a local high school power Albany Academy has been in the past, the Cadets have never been mightier than in the last 5 years. Head coach Brian Fruscio has his team on top in New York State's Class A and this season Academy became the first high school team from the Capital Region to win back to back NYS Federation titles after a 76-46 victory over Walton (Bronx). Those landmark wins come on the back of perhaps the best player in school history and a highly-touted recruit nationally, Hameir Wright. Overall, this year's Federation championship is the 3rd in 5 years for the Cadets who despite losing talented seniors Will Bennett, CJ Mulvey and Wright are well-positioned for success in the future as Fruscio told Rodger Wyland and Chris Onorato on Monday morning's show.
