This roller coaster season for the Albany Devils continued on Presidents day. Right now the coaster is on the descend. Beaten at home by Syracuse on Monday afternoon the Devils have lost 4 straight and are 3-6 since the all star break.

Syracuse was ready from the start and jumped out to a 2-0 lead before half the 1st period went by. Goals by Tyler Johnson and Dana Tyrell staked Syracuse to a 2-0 lead. The Devils cut that deficit in half before the 1st period came to a close on a tally by Mike Sislo.

After a scoreless 2nd period it was the Crunch who scored aagin in the 3rd and essentially ended the suspense. Johnson scored 2 more in that last period to finish off the hat trick and the Devils at the same time.

Albany has been a yo-yo since the 2nd half commenced. They dropped their 1st 2 contests. Then they peeled off 3 straight victories but now have gone backwards again as they fight for an Eastern Conference playoff spot.

That chase continues on Saturday when they take a trip to Binghamton to battle the Senators.
