After dropping a 2-1 game in Springfield in a shootout the Albany Devils took their act into Atlantic City and promptly lost again in a shootout, this time to their rivals, the Adirondack Phantoms, 3-2.

Over 5,000 people packed the Boardwalk hall to watch their Phantoms reduce the lead in the Time Warner Cable Cup series to 4-2 in favor of Albany.

The Phantoms scored a goal in the first period. The Devils responded with a tally of their own in the second period. The game stayed tied through the third and the five minute overtime.

To the shootout they went. The Phantoms beat Devils goalie Keith Kinkaid three times in that shootout and the Devils could only counter with a single tally.

Now, if you want the good news, the Devils did a gain at least a point for four points out of a possible six from the last three games.

Phil DeSimone and Jay Leach netted goals for Albany. Kinkaid made 29 saves.

Next up for Albany, a return to home ice for a match with the Springfield Falcons on Wednesday night. Face off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
