The Albany Devils have been on a hot streak while one Albany Devil must serve a suspension. This and more in the inaugural edition of Albany Devils Weekly.

The Albany Devils as of late have been on a hot streak winning three of four games in which they have defeated Adirondack (5-2), defeated Providence (3-2 OT), and beating Hamilton in their first ever meeting (3-2). The Devils going into their home game against Binghamton are 4-6-0-0 after going 1-5-0-0 early on.

Last Thursday the Albany Devils got a big addition as the team signed Steve Bernier to a contract. Bernier has played in the NHL since 2005 where he began with the San Jose Sharks before moving to Buffalo in 2008. Then late in 2008 he moved again to Vancouver, and finally heading south to play with the Florida Panthers to wrap up 2010 and into early this year. Bernier has 159, 76 goals and 83 assists in 385 games. Bernier picked up his first goal as an Albany Devil, a short-handed goal, against the Binghamton Senators Wednesday night at the TU Center.

Last Friday night against the Binghamton Senators in Binghamton, Devils center Tim Sestito was ejected from the game in the second period with a match penalty due to a check to the head area. The AHL reviewed the incident and ruled that Sestito would have to sit for 5 games due to the actions he took in that penalty. The AHL with that decision sent a message that those kinds of hits won't be tolerated in the league.

You have to respect the league's decision. It's going to be a loss but we respect with what the league does and what they did and we have to live with it. -Albany Devils Head Coach Rick Kowalsky-

The Albany Devils will continue their home-stand as they will be hosting the Norfolk Admirals on Friday night (11/4), Connecticut Whales on Saturday (11/5), and then Norfolk again on Friday night (11/11).
