The Arena Football League is primarily an offensive league and primarily a passing league, so last week when Mykel 'BOOM BOOM' Benson ran wild for the Albany Empire we all took notice. Tommy Grady is the reigning offensive player of the week in the AFL but man Boom Boom is fun to watch when he's working.

Mykel Benson ran for 39 yards and 2 touchdowns on 10 carries last week against the defending Arena League champion Philadelphia Soul, who also happen to be his former team. When we asked Empire Head Coach Rob Keefe about the addition of Benson to the Empire he said "He was the missing piece."

Benson will be a key part of the empire offense when they play the Washington Valor for two straight weeks in the playoffs. If the Empire can win both games or win one of two games but have the higher point differential they will host the winner of Philadelphia vs Baltimore in the Arena Bowl.
