Albany Empire Open Tryouts Scheduled For This Fall

This fall the Albany Empire will again be hosting open tryouts for athletes in the capital region. Below is from an official press release from the team.

The Albany Empire Arena Football Team announced today that they will host an open tryout on Saturday, October 27 at Sportsplex at Halfmoon located at 6 Corporate Drive, Clifton Park NY 12065. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. and tryouts will begin at 9 a.m.....

A pre-registration fee of $65 can be applied using PayPal at www.TheAlbanyEmpire.com before Friday, October 26 at 3 p.m. Registration after that day and time will require an application fee of $80 (cash or cashier’s check only).  A t-shirt will be included in the cost and all fees are non-refundable.

Players will be tested on their 40-yard dash time, short shuttle and other position-specific drills. Appropriate workout gear and shoes/cleats must be worn.  Testing will take place on field turf – no metal cleats are permitted.  All positions will be evaluated in tryouts – QB, WR, FB, DB, LB, DL & OL, and K.

In attendance will be Empire Head Coach Rob Keefe, along with the entire Albany Empire coaching staff.

Coach Rob Keefe is scheduled to join Levack and Goz at 315pm to discuss more about the October event. The Empire won Arena Football's regular season title in their expansion season before falling to the eventual champion Washington Valor in the playoffs.
