Today is school budget day around New York State, but in addition to school budgets, there are also meaningful propositions up for vote for those in the Capital Region.

One of the most notable propositions up for vote is in the Albany School District. Prop. 2 includes the vote on a new Albany High athletic facility.

We were joined this morning by new Falcons head football coach Joey DiPiazza to talk about the benefits of a new potential athletic facility.

He stressed that a new multi-purpose facility would be a source of pride for the community and would allow Albany Varsity teams to play on campus. Previously, the football team played at Bleecker Stadium in Albany with other teams going off-site as well.

Albany High School is moving to the Suburban Council next year and DiPiazza talked about how the school is now in a "New Age" and this Prop. is a great way to put student-athletes on the road to success.

Voting takes place until 9 p.m. tonight.
