As a follow up to a article I recently wrote the NY Jets would be bringing in several undrafted free agents for a look. Part of that group was Albany QB  Dan Di Lella. The Jets  also brought in Phil Simms kid Matt and Tulsa QC G.J. Kinne as well as a other players at other positions.

After the 3 day mini camp concluded the Jets decided to sign Kinne and Simms to a contract but not Di Lella.

Di Lella seemed to enjoy his 3 day NFL tryout and leaves feeling he can make a spot for himsel;f in the league. He says both Jets coach Rex Ryan and offensive co-ordinator Tony Sparano told him he has the stuff to make an NFL roster and to stick with it.

In the 3 days of camp and workout Di Lella apparently was absorbing much taking notes to the tune of about 100 pages. After the workouts finished Di Lella said " I was hoping for a contract but coming into the weekend  it seemed they had thweir minds made up. They already signed  Kinne and they had their eyes on Simms". Di Lella added " I think I proved I can play at that level and do just as good as those guys".

1 scribe from the NY Post described Di Lella's workout this way " big arm, big guy, zero touch".. Ouch!

Di Lella's agent Brad Berkowitz hopes to get his client in front of other clubs perhaps even the NY Giants who hold workouts similar this coming weekend. Berkowitz also acknowledged  that his client may try and get a deal with a CFL club saying  "it may be perfect for him. they play only 3 downs and throw the ball all day long".

Di Lella also was impressed with meeting many of the Jets including Tim Tebow saying " that was pretty cool"
