Amare Stoudemire Takes Leave After Brothers Sudden Death

Last night Amare Stoudemire was absent from the Knicks lineup last night after he received the devastating news that his brother Hazell was killed in a terrible car crash.

The casual NBA fan may have been wondering where Amare Stoudemire was last night as the NY Knicks took the court at Madison Square Garden.  The answer is simple.  He was being with his family.  Earlier in the day he got news that no one wants to hear, and that's that a loved one has died.

Early on Monday Amare's brother Hazell was killed in a car crash involving a tractor trailer.  No word right now how long Amare will be out, but for now he is listed as out indefinitely while he is with his family in Florida.
