Report: Suspect Arrested in Mass [UPDATE]

UPDATE @ 10:20 PM – FOX 25 in Boston is reporting that Matthew Slocum, a suspect in a triple homicide, house fire, and the reason for a multi-state AMBER alert has been arrested. The television station is reporting that his girlfriend and four month old baby are safe.

UPDATE @ 4P – local media erroneously reported this had been canceled – it is still active.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department has activated the NY AMBER Alert system and has confirmed a child has been abducted from a home on Turnpike Road in White Creek around 4AM this morning. Police are searching for a suspect, Matthew A. Slocum – description of the suspect and child after the jump.

The suspect (Matthew A. Slocum) is a 23 year old white male with short brown hair and brown eyes. Slocum is 5’10 and weighs 195 pounds. He is driving a black two door Ford Mustang with NY plate number DED 1769

The child is a white male, Raymond Slocum, approximately four months old.

The suspect IS ARMED and fled the scene of a suspicious fire and death taking the child with him.

If you have any information please immediately contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Dept 866-NYS-AMBER or 911 to report a sighting.

The suspect was last seen possibly traveling on North Street in Adams, MA around 5A this morning.
