The waiting is over for Josh Beekman.  The Amsterdam native has a new NFL home.

Beekman signed a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts this morning.

Beekman was released by the Chicago Bears before the regular season opener last year.  He then played for the Florida Tuskers in the UFL.

The 6-2, 310 lbs. guard was selected in the 4th round of the 2007 NFL Draft.  He started 16 games for the Chicago Bears during the 2008 season and was a starter for 11 games in 2009.

The Amsterdam High School graduate (and Homecoming King) was an All-American offensive lineman at Boston College.

This past weekend, Beekman was inducted into the Capital Region Football Hall of Fame.
