The 18U USA Baseball national team won again on Saturday night, moving to 2-1 in pool play after beating Mexico, 5-1.

Locally, rising Shen senior Ian Anderson continued to dominate on the mound for the Americans. The Vanderbilt commit went 3.1 innings in relief, allowing one hit and striking out five. He came in with the bases loaded and two outs in the sixth. He hit the first batter he faced and then struck out the next batter to end the threat.

That win moved the U.S. Team to 2-1 in pool play. The U.S. is beating the Australian team as we speak by a score of 11-1.

Anderson has had a superb summer, shining on multiple national stages. He pitched a few weeks back in the Perfect Game All-America Classic in San Diego in a game that was televised on MLB Network. Now pitching for Team USA, he continues to up his stock as we head toward the 2016 MLB Draft.
