The announcement many Yankee fans have been waiting for is finally here. Andy Pettitte will take the mound for the Bronx Bombers on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners, that according to Yanks GM Brian Cashman who made it official on Tuesday.

This will be Pettitte's first major league start since October 18th 2010 in a loss to the Texas Rangers in the ALCS. That year Andy went 11-3 with a 3.28 ERA.   Pettitte hadbeen retired until he announced his comeback in March signing a $2.5 Million deal with the Yankees. He has pitched 4 minor league games going 0-2 with an ERA of 3.71.

According to Cashman, with the rainy weather in the New York Area this week, Andy's start could get pushed back.
