This year's matchup with Richmond had all the makings of being the curse breaker if you will. UAlbany had never beaten the Spiders but stud quarterback Kyle Lauletta has moved on and after all, even with him under center for Richmond the past two years, the Great Danes had pushed them to triple and double overtime respectively.

That said, a field goal sunk UAlbany last year and it did again in 2018. Both the Danes and Spiders were looking for their first conference wins and that's what makes this week's loss perhaps more painful than seven days ago against William & Mary.

With little left to do but hope on Saturday night as Richmond drove the ball and drained the clock, UAlbany watched as the game-winning field goal sailed through the uprights with only six seconds left.

Six. That's a number UAlbany would like to forget in this CAA matchup. The Great Danes are now 0-6 against Richmond including the 27-24 loss at Casey Stadium which drops UAlbany to 2-4 on the season with Towson coming to town next week.
