The Yankees latest trip to the west coast hasn't been good as the Bombers were swept by the Oakland A's losing Sunday 5-4. This is the first time the A's have swept the Yankees in a 4 game series in Oakland.

Things started well for the Yankees as they would get on the board first with RBI's from Mark Teixeria and Alex Rodriguez in the top of the 3rd off of starter and former Yankee Bartolo Colon. Curtis Granderson would add another run in the top of the 4th with his 26th Home Run of the year.

CC Sabathia was rolling pitching well into the 5th when he ran into some trouble giving up a Home Run to Brandon Inge and then another to Kurt Suzuki for his first of the year. In the bottom of the 6th Inge would hit into a fielder's choice scoring Yoenis Cepedes.

David Robertson would take over for CC in the 8th. He would give up a single and stolen base to Coco Cris. He would go on to strike out Josh Reddick and Cepedes and would get Chris Carter to ground out on what would end up being a very close play at first. Rafael Soriano would come in for the 9th but couldn't get the save as he gave up a Home Run to Seth Smith.

That would take us to extra innings, both bullpens would keep things scoreless till the bottom of the 12th when Coco Crisp would hit an RBI single for the win. In all four game in this series, the Yankees would lose by one run.

The Yankees head to Seattle on Monday to start a 3 game series with the Mariners. Hiroki Kuroda will take the hill for the Yanks taking on Kevin Millwood. Check out all the action on 104.5 The Team ESPN radio. Pre-game at 9:30, first pitch at 10:05.
