The Oakland A's, behind their starter Rich Harden, beat the Yankees 4-3 on Saturday. The A's got some offense from the former Yankee and 2009 World Series MVP Hideki Matsui, as he went deep in the win. Burnett took the loss in the effort.

Rich Harden took the win for the A's going 5 1/3 innings giving up 5 hits, 2 runs, walking 4 and striking out 6. Burnett went 5 2/3 innings giving up 6 hits, 3 runs, walking 3 and striking out 6. It's tough to make any real judgments towards AJ Burnett as the heat and humidity once again played a factor at the Stadium. Though the third earned run came into score after Burnett had been taken out of the game by Girardi.

It's worth noting that Burnett looked visibly disgusted as he walked off the mound and appeared to mouth something during his walk back to the dugout. It was tough to determine if he was mad at himself, mad at Girardi for taking him out, or both. But his body language looked as if he could have stayed in for another batter or two in the 6th inning, which ultimately gave the A's enough momentum to win the game.

On the injury front, Eric Chavez and Rafael Soriano continue to progress well in rehab and could make it back by next week. There are no new trade rumors in concerning the Yankees as the trade deadline is a week away.
