Atlanta Braves Pitcher Kris Medlen Is Having A Great Month In Many Ways

What a month August was for Atlanta Braves pitcher Kris Medlen. Not only was he named the NL pitcher of the month, but he has a new child on the way shortly. More on this in a moment.

Medlen was a scintillating 4-0 during August with an E.R.A. of 0.50 and striking out 35 hitters. The Braves are in the battle for a  NL wild card spot as well.

But better for the right hander is his family, or his soon to be growing family.  Medlen is expecting his first child soon and it will be a boy.

Obviously the pitcher is thrilled for himself and his wife but seems he is really thrilled about having a boy. How do I know this? Check out Medlen's tweet to his followers 2 days ago "Wow what an incredible day! So honored to be NL pitcher of the month! But finding out my unborn child has a weiner was the best part."

Well there you go. Congratulations for a great month Kris-I just hope that is a boy you are having or we've got problems here.
