As a lifelong Capital Region sports fan who has just so happened to be in radio for most of my professional life the chance to “join the Team” pun intended was the kind of offer I’ve been dreaming of. Growing up a Yankees, Knicks and Raiders fan(a punishment I share with my beautiful daughter Ella) I’ve felt the pain and success that comes with diehard fandom. Luckily for me my friends that love the Giants have adopted me so I have a reason to watch football after the Raiders have been eliminated EARLY every season for the last 10 plus years. I’m excited to talk sports and enjoy multiple happy hours with all the sports fans of the Cap Region…even the Red Sox fans.

Giants Fans Wait For Free Agent Splash While Team Barely Treads Water
The New York Giants enter the "Legal Tampering" period of Free Agency with plenty of needs. Top of the list is a Wide Receiver and an Edge Rusher. So far Big Blue's Big Move has been adding a second string running back and depth at the interior of the defensive line. Meanwhile, the New England Patriots are signing anyone with a pulse and the Jets have added exactly what the Giants need, a wide receiver and edge rusher. Giants fans are understandably upset but is there still time and players left to make them happy and more importantly make the Giants winners?
Jets Make First Big Move Of Free Agency By Adding Corey Davis
The New York Jets have no shortage of needs this offseason but maybe one of those needs just got filled in free agency. The Jets have agreed to a three-year $37.5 million deal with former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Corey Davis. This has the potential to be a big get for the Jets.
Siena And Ali Jaques Part Ways
The Siena Saints women's basketball team will have a new leader next season. The school has decided to not renew Ali Jaques after a nine-year run as the Siena women's head coach.
Albany’s New Lacrosse Team Will Feature A Familiar Face [INTERVIEW]
The news that Albany would be getting a new indoor lacrosse team is hitting even better than I thought it would. The area is primed perfectly for a new team right now. The success of the Great Danes of the Unversity of Albany has more and more Capital Region residents paying attention to lacrosse. It's only fitting that the team who will call Albany home would have a UA alum on it. Joe Resetarits played for head coach Scott Marr and the Great Danes from 2009 to 2012 and now he's coming back with the Albany NLL team(name currently being decided).
MLB Insider Compares Shen’s Ian Anderson To All-Star Talent [INTERVIEW]
The 2021 Major League Baseball season is less than a month away and as you prepare for Fantasy Baseball Drafts or just want to know how your favorite players look, Eno Sarris has the information you need. Not only is Sarris the guy that handles player rankings and analysis for the Athletic but also hosts a podcast called "Rates & Barrels" that focuses on Fantasy Baseball. He compares former Shen high school current Atlanta Braves pitcher Ian Anderson to some pretty big names in the world of MLB pitching.
Saratoga’s One With Life Tequila Adds Hall Of Fame Boxer As Investor
It's always great to see businesses located here in the Capital Region get the recognition they deserve. Anyone that's tried Saratoga-based "One With Life Tequila" understands why it wins awards and why big names would want to invest in it. Thanks to the quality of One With Life and the relationship founder Lisa Elovich has with the boxing community it shouldn't be a shock that some of the biggest names in boxing are now teaming up with One With Life but it's still really cool. Boxing Hall of Famer Larry Holmes now joins three other boxing-related stars as investors into OWL.
The Albany NLL Season Has It’s 2021-2022 Start Date
If it feels like things are moving super fast for the Albany NLL lacrosse team just wait until they get on the field at the Times Union Center. It's been just over two weeks since we found out the Capital Region was getting professional indoor lacrosse back but we already know when the season will begin.
This UAlbany Player’s Skills Could Have Him Playing In The NFL Next Year [INTERVIEW]
The University of Albany Great Danes football team is 1 - 0 to start this six-game Spring 2021 season. Even though the thought of FCS college football in March is far from normal one thing hasn't changed, UAlbany likes to run the football with Senior Karl Mofor. Head Coach Greg Gattuso knows talent on the football field and has some high expectations for Mofor.
New York Aquarium Owners Beware of ‘Moss Balls’
I feel like that scene in the movie "Cabin in the Woods" where the guy goes to the whiteboard and says "Who had MOSS BALLS?!" as a method of destruction. Over the last 12 to 13 months we've had a pandemic, riots, Murder Hornets, an attack on the Capital, and many other issues but I never thought I'd need to warn you about MOSS BALLS! The New York Department of Conservation (DEC) is warning pet and aquarium stores as well as consumers to immediately remove, carefully dispose of and thoroughly clean up after their "moss balls".
Giants Forced To Make Tough Moves To Get Under Salary Cap [INTERVIEW]
The NFL reduced it's team salary cap 8% from $198.2 million in 2020 to to $182.5 million for the upcoming 2021 season. This means teams will need to make some tough decisions to get under the cap. The New York Giants made a big cut today and when I say big I mean 330 pounds of offensive lineman. Kevin Zietler is no longer a member of the Giants and neither is the $12 million they save by releasing the big man. ESPN New York Giants insider Jordan Ranaan broke the story and has more moves he thinks the Giants will need to make to get under the cap and field a team.
New York Baseball Fans Are Surprisingly Not the Booziest
As we get closer and closer to being able to return to the ballparks all fans were forced to abandon thanks to COVID-19 I start getting nostalgic for the little things. You know like an ice-cold beer at a Yankees or Mets game. Ice cold beers in team souvenir cups are a staple of the "Great American Pastime". Some fans wear their ability to throw back beers at games as a badge of honor while some are a bit more discreet but all 30 fanbases drink. So who's the winner when it comes to most beers consumed per game and can we start keeping "BPG" as a stat?
Get Paid $1,000 To Play Cornhole Right In Your Own Backyard
Just about every time I walk into a friend's backyard on the weekend someone is playing Corn Hole and most likely telling tales of how great they are at it. Now obviously we're not all getting together like we used to but you can still put your love of Corn Hole to work for you and instead of shaming me for my lack of skill you could cash in $1,000 just for safely playing a couple of games safely in your yard.
