President Barack Obama recently visited the Team USA Basketball squads as they prepare to win gold in London.  Obama might have whispered something to Anthony Davis in the locker room.

President Barack Obama recently visited both the men's and women's USA Basketball teams.  I think that Barack Obama whispered to Anthony Davis, "You know, I agree with that Brian Noe who hosts "The Noe Show" in Albany, NY.  I'd take you over Blake Griffin right now too."  My lip-reading ability isn't as good as it once was, but if you watch the video closely, I think he says those exact same words.

Blake Griffin is an explosive player who averaged 20.7 points and 10.9 rebounds last season.  Those are big numbers, but Anthony Davis is more than a one-dimensional offensive weapon.  Unlike Griffin, Davis can actually shoot.  He's not Steve Kerr, but he's got much-better range than Blake.  He's a better defender.  Plus, Davis can handle the ball better than Griffin.  If I'm starting a team today, and I'm choosing between Anthony Davis and a healthy Blake Griffin, I'm taking Davis.

Whether you agree with that or not, I have one more point to make.  As a sports fan, it's awesome to have a president who actually loves sports.  Obama isn't one of these wannabe sports fans who happens to be the President of the United States.  He genuinely loves sports and is very knowledgeable when it comes to sports.  That's cool.  Without bringing anything else into the equation or discussion, as a sports fan, that's awesome.
