And just like that, the New York Yankees are back at .500 after a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Ivan Nova pitched the Yankees to the 30-30 mark by tossing 6.1 innings and allowing just three earned runs. Nova is now 5-3 this year. I knew he was going to be important to the team in someway this year and he has been after an injury to CC Sabathia and ineffectiveness by Luis Severino has landed him in AAA.

The Yankees scored five runs in a fifth inning that saw them bring five men to the plate. They scored on a single by Chris Parmelee, a two-run double by Carlos Beltran, a sac fly and a double by Brian McCann.

The real question for the Yankees now is can they keep this up against a better team. The Yankees will play the Tigers next as they look to build off this momentum.
