Big Blue Takes Down Packers
The New York Giants went to Lambeau Field and took down the Green Bay Packers in the NFL Playoffs yet again. Big Blue beat the 15-1 Packers 37-20 to earn a trip to the NFC Championship Game.
The New York Giants forced four turnovers and sacked Aaron Rodgers four times en route to a 37-20 win in the NFL Playoffs against the Green Bay Packers. Eli Manning was 21/33 for 330 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Eli's favorite target was Hakeem Nicks. The North Carolina product caught seven passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Nicks caught a 37-yard Hail Mary on the last play of the 1st half. Hakeem's touchdown reception game the Giants a 20-10 lead heading into halftime.
The Giants did an exceptional job of blanketing Green Bay's receivers. Aaron Rodgers went 26/46 for 264 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Those numbers aren't horrible, but this is Aaron Rodgers we're talking about here. Rodgers set an all-time NFL record for the highest passer rating in a single season. His passer rating for the 2011 season was a ridiculous 122.5. His passer rating on Sunday against the Giants was a Tarvaris-Jackson-esque 78.5.
The Giants move on to the NFC Championship Game. Big Blue will face the San Francisco 49ers at 6:30pm ET next Sunday in San Francisco for the right to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLVI. The 49ers were able to beat the New Orleans Saints 36-32 on Saturday.
