Raul Ibanez would have a big hit in the bottom of the 9th and a game winner in the bottom of the 12th to help the Yankees beat the Red Sox 4-3.

The Red Sox would get to Yankees Starter David Phelps quickly as Jacoby Ellsbury would hit a lead off single followed by a double from Dustin Pedroia that would score Ellsbury. A couple batters later Cody Ross would hit a sacrifice fly to score Pedroia to give the Sox an early 2-0 lead.

The Yankees would get one of those runs back in the bottom of the 2nd as Curtis Granderson would get himself to third with a single, a throwing error and a stolen base. Eduardo Nunez would bring him home with an infield single off of Jon Lester.

The Sox would tack on an extra run in the top of the 9th thanks to a home run from James Loney off of Rafael Soriano. The Yankees would answer right back in the bottom of the 9th with a single from Granderson and then Raul Ibanez would tie things up with his 19th homer of the season. We would go to extra innings and stay tied till the bottom of the 12th when Raul Ibanez would come up big again with an RBI single to score Francisco Cervelli for the win.

The Orioles would beat the Rays by the score of 1-0 keeping them one game back behind the Yankees in the AL East.
