This week on Levack and Goz the guys were joined by Sporting News writer Bill Bender. Throughout the fall, Bender covered college football for the Sporting News but his recent article sparked the interest of both Levack and Goz. Bender posed this question "Could a mid major college football team ever become Gonzaga of college basketball?". It is true that only four teams qualify for the NCAA Division 1 football tournament while the NCAA basketball tournament has sixty eight teams. However a team like Houston could have been in the hunt last season. How about teams like TCU, Boise State or Northern Illinois? Bender answers those questions plus he addresses the hiring of New York Knicks legend Patrick Ewing to Georgetown. Does he believe now Coach Ewing will be able to recruit the D.C. area. Are recruits even interested in playing for a former NBA legend? Plus how was Bill Bender injured in a dunk contest? Find out those answers and more below.
