Rex Ryan won in his first trip to New York as the head coach of the Buffalo Bills when the Bills beat the Jets on Thursday, 22-17.

But more importantly, the win moves the Bills to 5-4 and pulls them into a tie with the Jets in the AFC Wild Card race.

The Bills took a 22-3 lead in the third quarter after forcing a series of Jets turnovers. While tied at 3-3, Duke Williams recovered a fumble for a touchdown on a Jets kickoff for a 9-3 lead. Dan Carpenter missed the extra point.

A Carpenter field goal made it 12-3 and then Karlos Williams scored after halftime to make it 19-3.

The Jets, trailing 22-3, took the ball down the field and Ryan Fitzpatrick connected with Brandon Marshall for a 22-10 deficit and then Eric Decker caught a TD to make it 22-17 with 7:23 left.

The Bills offense had nothing going in the second half and kept allowing the Jets opportunities to get closer.

The Jets were stopped on two fourth down chances in the fourth quarter as well.

The Bills take on New England in Week 11.
