The Yankees bats were once again very silent as they were swept in the short 2 game series with Toronto losing 4-1 on Thursday night.

The Yankees got on the board first thanks to a Robinson Cano RBI double in the top of the first. That would be all the Yankees would get as the offense would once again struggle. Toronto would go ahead in the bottom of the 3rd with the help of a 2-run blast from slugger Jose Bautista. Two more runs would be added in the bottom of the 7th with a 2-run Home Run from J.P. Arencibia.

Phil Hughes didn't pitch terribly, going 5 1/3 innings striking out 5 and walking 4. Hughes biggest mistake was the Home Run to Bautista and with the lack of offense the Yankees have had as of late, that was a huge mistake. Hughes' opponent Drew Hutchison pitched 6 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 3.

The Yankees will start Interleague play on Friday as they start a series with the Cincinnati Reds at Yankee Stadium. Two veterans will take the mound as Andy Pettitte will make his second start of the year for the Yanks taking on Bronson Arroyo for the Reds.
