Last season, the Boston Red Sox were managed by Bobby Valentine whenever they were one of the worst teams in baseball, amounting only 69 wins.

A year later, the Sox are 2013 World Series Champions. So where was Valentine whenever the Red Sox won at Fenway for the first time in 95 years?

"I was in my home for about three of the innings," said Valentine, now with NBC Sports Radio. "I was in my bed for an inning and never saw the last pitch. I knew they had it won."

Valentine is now also the Athletic Director for Sacred Heart in Connecticut.
