Big time boxing returns to the Albany area and a national TV audience will be tuned in.

Mark down May 18th if you like the sweet science. Friday Night Fights and ESPN 2 Tv will broadcast the card at the Times Union Center. Not yet determined is if the card will be blacked out in the Capital Region.

As for right now the top fight on the card will be a title match for the NABO Junior WelterWeight crown. Right now the champ is Karim Mayfield and he takes his unbeaten record (15-0-1) into the ring against Raymond Serrano, who is 18-0. The champ has 9 KO's in his career, while Serrano  has 8 KO'S to his mark.

The fights are being promoted by Star Boxing. In their first card at the TU on February 4th, a crowd of over 3,500 watched live in the arena. The promoters hope to bring in at least 5,000 for this upcoming card.

If you are interested, tickets will range  from $30 to a high of $75, and go on sale this coming Thursday at  the arena ticket window or through Ticketmaster.
