After winning the national championship in the first year of the college football playoff system, the Ohio State Buckeyes are the favorite to repeat in year two.

However, the Buckeyes were faced with a significant problem/benefit at the quarterback position. After losing two-time Big 10 Player of the Year Braxton Miller last year to injury, freshman JT Barrett stepped in and dominated the conference. However, he was lost for the year before the Big 10 Championship, and Cardale Jones stepped into lead the Buckeyes to the title.

All three quarterbacks are back this season, but there was a lot of talk that Miller would transfer out of the log jam, potentially to Florida State to replace Jameis Winston.

However, Miller is staying, and he is saying that he will move to a running back/wide receiver position. Head coach Urban Meyer has not confirmed that.

Miller has had two surgeries on his shoulder and could not be ready to play the quarterback position anyways, and several people think his NFL future lies at a different position.

Josh Cribbs (Kent State), Julian Edelman (Kent State), Antwaan Randle-El (Indiana), and Brad Smith (Missouri) are examples of college QBs who have made the transition to other positions in the pros.
