With the Super Bowl of horse racing set to kickoff this weekend, today we found out where in the starting gate each horse will be breaking from. The Classic is the setting for what most feel will be a match race between Triple Crown winner American Pharoah and the classy mare Beholder.

Both horses are running for history on Saturday. Since the Breeders Cup Championships did not start until 1984, there has never been a opportunity for a Triple Crown winner to win the "Grand Slam" as horseman are calling it. American Pharoah has been off since his defeat in the Travers Stakes at Saratoga on August 29th. Trainer Bob Baffart is confident that American Pharoah will be ready to go on Saturday after 2 very impressive works at Santa Anita. Beholder is trying to become the only horse to win 3 separate Breeders Cup races (Breeders Cup Distaff 2013, Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies 2012). She wowed in the Pacific Classic at Delmar earlier this summer in beating the boys and she will try to take down a Triple Crown winner in this years version of the Breeders Cup Classic.
