Brett Gardner Agrees To One Year Deal With Yankees

The Yankees again have avoided arbitration with one of their key players as they have come to terms on a one year deal with outfielder Brett Gardner worth $2.8 Million. Gardner was originally asking for $3.2 Million while the Yankees made an original offer of $2.4 Million. Either way Gardner got quite the raise from last year's  $549, 500 salary.

Gardner hit .259 last year with 36 RBI's and 87 Runs  Scored. He also led the team with 49 Stolen Bases and was tied for the American League lead with Oakland's Coco Crisp. He also stepped up in the ALDS against Texas  batting .417.

Gardner Joins David Robertson and Joba Chamberlain who both signed one year deals on Tuesday. Catcher Russell Martin and Pitcher Boone Logan still remain in arbitration.
