Brett Gardner isn't Willie Mays or Mickey Mantle, but he has played some solid baseball for the Yankees in 2013, especially out in center field.  Check these two plays out on July 23 in Texas, saving the Yanks' bacon:

He robbed the Rangers' Elvis Andrus in the eighth inning of the game with a great diving catch.

Earlier in the game, he made a tremendous catch on a ball hit by Ian Kinsler, which can be viewed here. Without these two plays, the Yankees may not have picked up what turned out to be a huge victory.
