After 12 highly productive years, which included two trips to the Pro Bowl, the Bills are reportedly giving punter Brian Moorman the boot (pun intended).

According to reports, Moorman will be cut today, and the Bills will resign Shawn Powell, whom Moorman beat out for the job during camp. Moorman, 26, got off to a rough start this season, pinning only 2 of his 15 attempts inside the 20 yard line. Powell, an undrafted rookie out of Florida State, is considered by the club to have a stronger leg than the veteran, which they believe will ultimately serve them better in the battle for field position.

Despite his issues with pinning opponents deep, Moorman had an average kicking distance of 45.5 this season, which is certainly respectable.
