Well, the Cleveland Browns have signed Robert Griffin III to play quarterback for them in 2016.

It's an interesting move for a Browns team that already has Josh McCown on the roster with significant NFL experience and is expected to take a quarterback with the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft. Adam Schefter of ESPN says this signing will have no impact on that decision.

For Griffin, it will give him an opportunity to start, which is what he deserves after some poor treatment in Washington. I still maintain Los Angeles was the best destination for RGIII, but you can't argue with an opportunity to start.

Griffin had met with the Jets twice so this move has an interesting effect on them as well. If you are Ryan Fitzpatrick, this move is good because Griffin is no longer an option in New York, but the Jets also know Cleveland is not a destination for Fitz. It seems the two sides have very limited other options here and need to get a deal done.
