Not only did the Bruins take home a Stanley Cup to the city of Boston, but they also accomplished something else quite remarkable.

They got a road victory in Game #7.  So how did they do it?

The Bruins pulled off quite a feat on Wednesday as they took game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals on the road. The home team had one each of the first six games of this seven game series.

Boston had to win three consecutive game sevens during this postseason for them to win the Stanley Cup. In the world of hockey that is VERY difficult to do as home ice is crucial in the sport as this finals series proved.

Tim Thomas was named MVP of the series as he shutout the Canucks 4-0 in game 7.  Over the past couple of seasons, Thomas has been one of the best NHL goalies in the league. They say defense wins championships and the play of Tim Thomas along with their defense lead by captain Zdeno Chara led the Bruins to this Stanley Cup victory - the first since the Bobby Orr days.
