Buffalo Bills Stop Tebow Train

The Buffalo Bills played terrific on Sunday.

The Bills scored the final 23 points of the game, handing the AFC West leading Denver Broncos a 40-14 defeat.

Knocking around Tim Tebow almost made up for the fact that the Bills have the longest active playoff drought (Detroit's ended with its win on Sunday).

Buffalo intercepted Tebow four times and gave all of its fans a nice Christmas present, snapping a seven-game losing skid.

C.J Spiller went over 100 yards, looking more and more like a decent runner and Leodis McKelvin had an awesome game on special teams.

It was also nice to slow down Willis McGahee, a former first round pick of the Bills. McGahee did go over 1,000 yards for the year, becoming just the second player in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, for three different teams, doing so previously for Buffalo and Baltimore.

The game got out of hand midway through the fourth quarter, when Jairus Byrd and Spencer Johnson returned interceptions for touchdowns, just 18 seconds apart, turning a 26-14 game into a 40-14 score.

The blowout made you even forget that Dave Rayner missed two first-quarter field goal attempts. Rayner must have felt like he had been put on Santa's naughty list, because the entire city of Buffalo would have been calling for his head, had the Bills defense not taking control.

This win was a great way to end the losing streak, but made you think where has THIS team been for the past two months. If Buffalo could have mustered one or two wins during that seven-game losing streak, it may be thinking postseason, instead of another January at home.

The Bills will miss the playoffs for the 12th straight season, but they finished 5-3 at Ralph Wilson Stadium. That's the club's best mark at home since the 2004 season.
