Buster Olney Gives Mets ‘Best Option’ To Replace Cespedes [AUDIO]
The Mets are not expected at all to bring back Yoenis Cespedes. So which free agent should they sign? ESPN's Buster Olney told "Armen and Levack":
"To me, a guy like Ben Zobrist makes the most sense because you’re not sure what needs are going to pop up for the Mets and he can move around," said Olney, on 104.5 The Team. "I would overpay for Ben Zobrist because of his flexibility, he’s a one of a kind guy in the market."
"The Mets are cetrainly going to invest in an outfielder but I don’t think it’s going to be an expensive one. Michael Conforto showed in the post-season that he has a chance to really become what Kevin Long their hitting coach thinks he can be, and that’s an all-star.
"[Conforto] is going to be a left-fielder and I think he’s going to hit left-handed pitching. You had Curtis Granderson in right field.
