Matt Harvey's outing on Wednesday looked good from the stat line with six scoreless innings and nine strikeouts but Buster Olney saw something different while watching the game.

"Compared to what he was in spring training, he was kind of grinding it a little bit," said Buster, with Armen and Levack on 104.5 The Team. "He wasn’t quite as good as he was in spring training, which says a lot about how great he can be. It’s pretty scary that he could wind up with that type of pitching line even though he wasn’t at his best.

"I won’t forget getting a phone call from an executive who saw him pitch in spring training and he said flat out that is as good as good can be. That is Hall of Famer good. Right away, scouts and evaluators are telling me that he is one of the best pitchers in baseball."

The next appearance for Harvey will be this Tuesday against the Phillies in New York.

Buster Olney joins Armen and Levack every Thursday at 5:15p thanks to Buffalo Wild Wings.
