It's hard to believe that we are rapidly approaching August. And with that, we begin to move back toward fall sports and the exciting beginning of the high school football season.

We kick off the high school football season this Saturday night, Aug. 1 with the induction of the 6th Capital Region Football Hall of Fame Class.

The induction ceremony takes place at 6 p.m. at Michael's Banquet House in Latham. Tickets are still available for the event.

We spoke today to Nick Fitzgerald, President of the Capital Region Chapter of the National Football Foundation about the event, which is expecting at least 330 attendees.

This year, 22 members are being inducted, including two full teams: The 1933 Granville team and the 1965 Hudson Falls team that went undefeated and unscored upon.

We also learned from Fitzgerald how you can get tickets to the event, and we asked him what it means to him to be inducted this year as well for his service to football.
