The St. Louis Cardnials have forced a game five in the NLCS after beating the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday Night 5-3. Cardinals third Baseman David Freese was the star of the game going 2-3 with a home run and 4 RBI.

Edwin Jackson started his first ever playoff game taking on the veteran Roy Oswalt. The Phillies Struck first in the 1st inning as Jimmy Rollins hit a Ground Rule Double followed by a Chase Utley RBI triple and Hunter Pence scored Utley with a Single.

The Cardinals got a run back in the bottom of the first with an RBI triple from Lance Berkman. Then the David Freese show started in the Bottom of the 4th with a two run double. Freese would follow that up in the bottom of the 6th with a two run Home Run.

Phillies would try to creep back as  Michael Martinez scored on a wild pitch by Fernando Salas in the top of the 8th. But that is all the Phillies would get as the Cardinals closer Jason Motte would be brought in for the ninth and had a 1-2-3 inning taking care of Shane Victorino, Raul Ibanez and Placido Palanco to tie the series up at two apiece.

The series now goes back to Philadelphia on Friday as both teams aces will be on the mound. Roy Halladay will take the mound for the Phillies against the Cardinals Chris Carpenter. All the action can be heard on 104.5 The Team with the first pitch scheduled for 8:37pm.
