Even though Carmelo Anthony signed a five-year contract with the New York Knicks worth $124 million, some morning he wakes up hating the city.

“New York is the greatest city on the planet,’’ Anthony said in an interview with Vice Sports. “But you’re not a New Yorker if you don’t wake up in the morning and sometimes say f--k this place. I don’t care who you are — the mayor, governor, all the way down to the mailman. Everybody wakes up some days: ‘Hey, f--k New York.’’’

The 31-year-old all-star small forward is entering his sixth season with the Knicks, and it's been anything but a success. He's coming off a year plagued with injuries, which led to  playing a career low only 40 games, and the Knicks having its worst season in franchise history.

Now does Melo actually not like New York? No, but just like everyone you wake up on the wrong side of the bed some days.  Carmelo Anthony has been the best thing for the Knicks in years. This guy brought an era led by Isaiah Thomas, Eddy Curry, Stephon Marbury, and a plethora of other players that aren't even in the league anymore.

“That's the reason it's so up-and-down here; one day you're the best thing since sliced bread, the next day you're scum on the bottom of somebody's shoe. Anthony said This is the hardest place to have a bad anything. I'm used to it, but sometimes you want some peace, some tranquility, you wanna just relax and not listen to that."

With the  additions of; Robin Lopez, Aaron Afflalo, Kyle O'Quinn, and draft pick Kristaps Porzingis this team is looking to get back into the playoffs and shed its losing ways once again.
