The Shen boys' basketball team captured its first Section II title since 1996 on Tuesday when they topped Guilderland, 47-42 at the Times Union Center.

The win was also the first Sectional title win for the Suburban Council since 2000. It had been a long run since that Colonie team won back in 2000, as the Suburban Council had to deal with the Schenectady/CBA/Bishop Maginn/Green Tech foursome that had dominated over the last 14 years.

On Thursday, Shen coach Tony Dzikas caught up with Brady Farkas to talk about the win, the emotions, the play of Kevin Huerter, and the defense that helped stifle Guilderland star Andrew Platek.

Finally, as someone with strong ties to the Shen program (I played three years of Varsity for the Plainsmen, and my brother played two), I have to congratulate Shen on the sectional win.

Coach Dzikas, who spent three years as my coach, may be the hardest working man in Section II. I congratulate you on the win -- and wish you luck in the Regional round against Henninger.

**The outro of this video appears to have been cut off from YouTube. The last 20 seconds were simply my wishing of luck to Coach Dzikas.**
