The Tri-City ValleyCats Frontier League era will begin with a familiar name to MLB fans as the manager, Pete Incaviglia is the newest skipper. The ValleyCats announced the addition of the 12 year MLB veteran today on Twitter and the team's website Thursday morning. Incaviglia has been coaching and managing baseball since 2001 and now he'll be managing at Joe Bruno Stadium.

Earlier this month, The New York Times laid out the plan for the changes coming to Minor League Baseball. Under the new plan, teams in the Tri City Valley Cats league, the New York Penn League, would be contracted. This new scenario would lay out a potential new league and new affiliation for the Valley Cats in the future. The Valley Cats organization did have a statement to the Times Union earlier this month.
